Modules:

Your course modules will introduce you to Latest Approach in forensic and criminal investigation, police custody, and being a witness at Crown Court. You will learn the theoretical and practical aspects of the entire investigative process, from crime scene management through the investigative process of identifying and arresting the offender. Once arrested, you will get a file for the police custody suit and the interview processes before appealing to Crown Prosecution Service(CPS) for a charge decision. To concludethe course; you will assume the role of either the Crime scene Investigator (CSI) or the detective and give your witness statement in the court. This short course will give you a first-hand look into real-life criminal investigation, and how the various personnel involved work together to achieve their common goal of apprehending and charging a criminal offender.

In addition to imparting academic knowledge in the field, your modules will demonstrate the professional aspects of work as an investigator through the rigorous processes and procedures that need to be adhered to, including interview and complaint protocols and appropriate courtroom communication. These will all be demonstrated within the immersive virtual environment that supplements the course. The course is based on UK criminal investigative process but will suit all the common wealth nations as well as other developed and developing nations investigative process. The last module will compare the differences in investigative process in UK and other well organised police services.

Entry Requirement

To be eligible for the Introduction to Forensic Criminal Investigation professional CPD course, you should normally be working in the field and wish to enhance or improve your knowledge and skill base.

 

English proficiency

Candidates must be able to read and write at a proficient level to pursue the course.
Alternatively, a letter to show that the Medium of Instruction was in English for your prior education or and work environment.
We also offer an internal English test for applicants who are unable to provide the above evidence of English proficiency.
